Springs.\u00a0 It is made by SII, Seiko Instruments, Inc.\u00a0 J. Springs is short for Japan Springs.\u00a0 SII happens to make all of Seiko\u2019s springs and advanced alloys.\u00a0 Every other watch manufacturer relies on Elnivar (an alloy and the name of a company) for the special metal used to the balance wheel spring of a watch.\u00a0 Seiko being Seiko, makes their own version, called SPRON 300, in their own factories.\u00a0 So if Elinvar goes bye bye, Seiko can still make mechanical watches.\u00a0 So I digress, back to this particular watch.<\/p>\n<p>This is the BEB006.\u00a0 It is a diver\u2019s style watch with an all stainless steel body and a 120 click, unidirectional bezel.\u00a0 The watch is pretty substantial at 41.5mm in diameter and a whopping 14mm thick.\u00a0 That being said, it wears well on the wrist, due to the well turned\u00a0 down lugs:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/jsprings_side.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"jsprings_side\" src=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/jsprings_side-400x254.jpg\" alt=\"jsprings_side\" width=\"400\" height=\"254\" \/><\/a>As you can see here, it has a signed crown, which is unusual for watch at this price point (comfortably under $100.)\u00a0 The body of the watch is a all brushed, with the crown and the bezel have a high polish.\u00a0 The crown is at the conventional 3 O\u2019Clock position, unlike Seiko 5\u2019s and has large crown guards.\u00a0 The watch does not hand wind, since it is a based on the Seiko 7S26B aka the Y676B.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/j_springs_21.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"j_springs_21\" src=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/j_springs_21-400x346.jpg\" alt=\"j_springs_21\" width=\"400\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a>The band and clasp are really exemplary for a a sub $100 watch.\u00a0 The links are solid and the clasp is a signed push button with a safety clasp.\u00a0 It does not pinch at all and does not grab hairs.\u00a0 The bracelet is brushed except for the two bands.\u00a0 It compliments the brushed and polished case well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/j_springs_face.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"j_springs_face\" src=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/j_springs_face-400x266.jpg\" alt=\"j_springs_face\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" \/><\/a>The face of the watch is very detailed.\u00a0 It is a radiall sunburst with a grid of matte dots.\u00a0 The hands are a classic style are filled with some Lumibrite.\u00a0 The markers and hands have a high polish and are placed flawlessly.\u00a0 The chapter ring has marking at 1\/5 of a second intervals up to 20 seconds, then every ten minuted thereafter.\u00a0\u00a0 It makes a for a very modern look.\u00a0 The crystal is domed and perfectly polished.<\/p>\n<p>Features:<br \/>\nCase: 41.5mm diameter, 14mm thick, stainless steel, 100m water resistance.<br \/>\nBack: Hardlex exhibition back, screw down.<br \/>\nCrystal: Hardlex, domed.<br \/>\nMovement: Automatic, Y676N, Seiko in-house design, 21 Jewels.  No handwind or hacking.\u00a0 Based on 7S26B.<br \/>\nComplications:  Day of week, Date<br \/>\nOther:\u00a0 Lumibrite, 120 click unidirectional bezel..<\/p>\n<p>Overall, I really like this watch.\u00a0 It is surprisingly easy to read, even with silver hands and a silver face.\u00a0 I think my only complaint would be the lume is pretty weak.\u00a0 It glows brightly to begin with, but dims rapidly.\u00a0 The watch is very accurate (+8 seconds a day) and although heavy, is not hard to wear all day long.\u00a0 It\u2019s a real keeper and a great find by Tiffany, my lovely wife.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>J.
