fun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Been thinking about what my next watch should be.\u00a0 I saw a nice Bulova hand wind in an antique store, for only $45!\u00a0 It was decent looking, but the bracelet was awful (twist-o-flex), also known as a hair grabber.\u00a0 It was a little small, but very thin.\u00a0 It was a hand wind, only, with no claim of jewel count on the face.\u00a0 Small seconds dial, which is pretty neat.\u00a0 I still can&#8217;t find a picture of one.\u00a0 Personally, I kinda of like automatics, you don&#8217;t have to really think about winding them.\u00a0 With that in mind, I think I found a vintage one I like:<a href=\"http:\/\/watches.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/dscn4732.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-220\" title=\"dscn4732\" src=\"http:\/\/watches.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/dscn4732-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/watches.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/dscn4733.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-222\" title=\"dscn4733\" src=\"http:\/\/watches.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/dscn4733-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is a Seiko 6139 based chronograph, &#8216;white helmet&#8217; design.<\/p>\n<p>It meets several criteria I really want in my next watch:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>White or cream faced.<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s a Seiko.<\/li>\n<li>It is a vintage, but not too old, late 70&#8217;s.<\/li>\n<li>It has day and date.<\/li>\n<li>It is an automatic.<\/li>\n<li>It is a chronograph WITH a Tachymeter scale.\u00a0 (I really like Tachymeters)<\/li>\n<li>It is not too big, about 40mm diameter.<\/li>\n<li>I think it looks cool.<\/li>\n<li>Prices are reasonable, but really good examples are not the easiest to find.\u00a0 Price seems to be in the $100 to $150 range for clean examples.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This would be my first foray into a vintage watch, but considering a NEW Seiko mechanical chronograph is upwards of $2000, this is a steal.\u00a0 The cheapest Swiss chronos are usually over $1,000.\u00a0 The other alternative is Russian (Poljot) chronographs as well.\u00a0 Not sure which way to go, but I think I like the thought of a vintage watch.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/watches.cyberphreak.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/dscn47321.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<a class=\"synved-social-button synved-social-button-share
