Blue Face, Modern Seiko Automatic
This is my third automatic watch. It has a modern style with old fashioned guts.
Case: 37mm diameter, stainless steel, 30m water resistance.
Back: Hardlex exhibition back, screw down.
Crystal: Hardlex, flat.
Movement: Automatic, 7S26B, Seiko in-house design. No handwind or hacking.
Complications: Day of week, Date
Other: Luminous hands and markers, Lumibrite.
As stated before, this is a mechanical watch, and as such will never require batteries. Initial accuracy is about +5 seconds/day! It is much better than expected at this point.
This is a very wearable and light watch. It has an integrated bracelet, folded links. I was a little worried about it, but on the wrist it is excellent. A two button deployant clasp is used, a nice touch. The luminous material works very well and glows for hours. The hands are long and almost European style, with the minute and second hands extending almost to the edge of the dial. The blue face is stunning and the hour markers are finely polished. The yellow second hand stands out perfectly from the blue of the face. It is a well balanced watch. Great for day to day use.
This watch looks about 5 times more expensive than it is. It is a dressier watch, but not so much so that it won’t work with jeans and a t-shirt.
